I drew the turkey totem yesterday. Here we are at the end of 2019 and that funny looking creature pops up to impart wisdom. It’s been an awful year. Somehow it makes sense that a weird bird with weird features would offer gifts. Also because I too am funny looking and know how rejection feels.

The guidance for how to use turkey energy: “Let go and give away the past. Share your gifts with generosity. Feel the freedom gained.”

Now turkey makes sense. I’ve spent the last month reflecting on this terribly difficult year. So many losses, deaths, destruction, rejection. I’m ready to be done with it. Give it away sounds good to me.

As for sharing my gifts, opportunities abound. A creative writing class with my favorite writing teacher Jaime deBlanc-Knowles will carry me from January through March. Monthly meet ups with the Not Yetters, a small community of vibrantly creative women, will feed and challenge me as needed. The newest addition is St. Hildegard Community a place where people are committed to breathing new life of Divine Love into humanity. Woven through all of those opportunities are the loving friendships that let me be who I am and walk together along this gorgeous path.
